They’re troublemakers alright! HyunA and Hyunseung — stars of sub unit duo Trouble Maker — lit up the stage at the 2013 MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) ceremony in Hong Kong with some major PDA.
During a performance of their hit single “Now”, the pair shocked audience members by kissing. At the end of a dance sequence, 21-year-old HyunA — who was wearing a skimpy top by Korean designer Kwak Hyun Joo – grabbed her B2ST partner’s face before planting a raunchy kiss on his lips.
It was a night of many surprises at the ceremony, which saw idols and global stars came from around the world be honored at the annual event.
The ever-suave T.O.P performed his electric track “Doom Dada”, before surprising fans and inviting his Big Bang band mates on stage. Label mates 2NE1 appeared on a cloud to perform “Missing You” for the very first time.
Rain took to the stage for his first television performance in three years. The 31-year-old reminded fans of his sexy routines, with sizzling renditions of his hit singles “How To Avoid The Sun”, “It’s Raining” and “Hip Song”.
“It feels great to be back,” he told press on the red carpet at the start of the evening. “I’m excited to be on stage tonight.”
Legendary American singer Stevie Wonder, 63, joined in on the action by performing his hit single “I Just Called to Say I Love You” with Sistar’s powerful vocalist Hyorin. He was later presented the Music Makes One Global Ambassador Award by Big Bang’s G-Dragon, Taeyang and Seungri.
G-dragon was one of the evening’s biggest stars, proving he’s at the top of his game after snagging four awards, including the Nissan Juke prize for best music video and the BC Union Pay-sponsored artist of the year award.
“This is incredible,” he said backstage. “I really felt like I was floating on the stage. It’s hard to even express my thanks enough for the votes and the fans. Just being nominated is enough… taking home four is just beyond [my wildest dreams.”
Of course, it wouldn’t be a night of acknowledgements without an accolade going to the almighty EXO. The group have gone from strength-to-strength in 2013 and their album of the year title for XOXO will be the icing on the cake for the SM Entertainment act.
